The Cookie Banner

A cookie consent pop-up you can wear, with real cookies stuck all over it. It has two buttons, Accept all and Manage, and the only wrong answer is to click Manage.

TIME

COST
about $8
SKILL
Some cutting

What you need

  • A cardboard rectangle about 50 by 40 cm
  • Black marker and white or cream paint
  • Two small card rectangles for buttons
  • Cookies, real ones for the party or plastic craft ones for keeping
  • Rope for straps, strong glue or hot glue

How to make it

  1. 1

Paint the board cream and let it dry for a few minutes.

  2. 2

Write “We value your privacy” across the top in black marker, in two lines.

  3. 3

Draw two buttons at the bottom and label them “Accept all” and “Manage”.

  4. 4

Glue cookies around the edges and in the corners. Real cookies need a strong tape or a dab of glue, and will not last the night.

  5. 5

Make two holes in the top corners, thread the rope for shoulder straps, and hang it at chest height. Carry one more cookie in your hand.

Make it better

  • Offer people a cookie. If they decline, say “You can change this later in settings.”
  • Use plastic craft cookies if you want to keep the costume.

Questions

Is this a particular company's banner?

No. It is a generic cookie consent notice drawn from memory, not any one site's design.

Wear it in front of your own haunted CCTV

Upload four photos of your house and Cursed Cam turns them into a night-time security monitor where something is very wrong. Put it on the TV by the door.
