A fake CCTV screen from your own locations

Stock CCTV clips show somebody else's building. Your scene is set in yours.

Upload 16 photos of your locations and Cursed Cam turns each into a night-time security camera still. Name every camera the way the script does: LOADING BAY, STAIRWELL B, VAULT, ROOM 214. Then AI makes three looping clips per camera: a quiet one, people passing, and something wrong. Not every story needs a ghost. The quiet and people-passing clips work as ordinary background security footage on their own.

Fake security camera footage screen, ready to play

The monitor is a 90s-style security console in the browser. 4×4 grid, timestamps, REC, motion detection, NO SIGNAL dropouts, night vision. Put it fullscreen on the set monitor from a laptop, or cast it with AirPlay or Chromecast.

Pro also gives you MP4 downloads with no watermark. Hand them to editorial for screen replacements in post, cut single-camera inserts, or load them onto whatever your playback setup already uses.

Commercial licence and cost

Pro is $299, paid once. It includes a commercial licence for productions, 16 cameras, 48 clips, MP4 downloads and 12 free remakes.

For indie features, shorts, student films, web series, music videos and fringe theatre, that's much cheaper and faster than booking a 24-frame playback rental house. You can have the screen ready the same afternoon. Only photograph locations you own or have permission to film.

When you still need a playback operator

We'll be straight about the limits. Cursed Cam plays in a browser at the screen's normal refresh rate. If you're shooting on film, at an unusual frame rate, or with a shutter that needs the monitor phase-locked to avoid roll bars, a dedicated playback operator is still the right call. Same if you need cued playback across many screens on the director's call.

You can still use Cursed Cam for the content: hand our MP4s to your playback team and let them run the sync.

Questions

Can I name the cameras to match the script?

Yes. Every camera gets whatever label you type, shown on the monitor the way a real security system shows it.

Is the commercial licence included?

On Pro, yes. Party and Haunt are for personal use, like a party at home. Productions and paid attractions need Pro.

Will it sync to my camera's frame rate?

Not automatically. It plays at the screen's refresh rate. That's fine for most digital shoots. If you need genlock or phase-locked playback, use a playback operator with our MP4s.

Can I download the footage?

Pro includes MP4 downloads without a watermark, for every clip.

How quickly can I get it?

About an hour after you upload. If you're shooting tomorrow morning, there's a rush add-on for $15.

What if one camera looks wrong for the scene?

Remake it. Pro includes 12 free remakes.
