SKILL

What you need

  • Flat cardboard, about 60 cm across
  • Black or dark grey marker
  • Rope for two shoulder straps
  • A small piece of card for the sign
  • Scissors and a plate or bowl to draw around

How to make it

  1. 1

Draw around a large plate or bowl to make a circle, and cut it out.

  2. 2

Mark twelve dashes around the edge like the numbers on a clock. Colour them in with a thick marker, making them pale grey to dark, with one dash solid black.

  3. 3

Punch two holes near the top and thread the rope through for shoulder straps.

  4. 4

Cut a small rectangle of card and write “Buffering... 99%”. Tie it under the wheel with string so it hangs at your waist.

Make it better

  • Move very slowly, then stop mid-sentence.
  • Stand next to someone dressed as a Wi-Fi symbol for a pair.

Questions

How do I make the dashes even?

Fold the circle in half three times, open it out, and mark where the creases meet the edge. That gives twelve even spokes.

Wear it in front of your own haunted CCTV

Upload four photos of your house and Cursed Cam turns them into a night-time security monitor where something is very wrong. Put it on the TV by the door.
