Why a Halloween TV background of your own house works

Your guests have seen the YouTube fireplace with a skeleton in it. They have not seen the back garden they just walked through, on night vision, with someone standing by the shed.

That's the whole trick. The screen shows places your guests know are real, because they're standing in them. You upload 4, 9 or 16 photos. We turn each one into a night-time security camera still. You name the cameras: FRONT DOOR, KITCHEN, BACK GARDEN. Then AI makes looping clips for every one.

What plays on the party TV

Every camera gets three clips. A quiet one where nothing happens. One where people pass through. And one where something is wrong: a figure, a shadow, a creature, the lights failing.

The monitor mixes them like a real 90s security console. Timestamps tick. REC blinks. Motion detection boxes pop up. A camera drops to NO SIGNAL and comes back. On the Haunt plan, a story moves from camera to camera, then the whole building loses power. It keeps running all night, so nobody has to babysit it.

Halloween projection videos vs a monitor on the TV

Projection videos are great on a window or a garage door. Cursed Cam is built for the screen that's already in the room.

Open your private monitor link on a laptop, AirPlay or Chromecast it, or type it into a smart TV browser. No projector, no sheet, no rearranging the furniture. If you do own a projector, that works too: the monitor is just a web page in fullscreen. Put it on the big TV, a spare monitor in the hall, or both.

How long it takes and what it costs

It takes about an hour to make. Yes, you can do it on the afternoon of the party.

Party is $79 for a 2×2 grid: 4 cameras, 12 clips. Haunt is $169 for a 3×3 grid: 9 cameras, 27 clips, a story across cameras and a power cut. Haunt is the one most people pick. You pay once. Then never again. Free remakes are included if a clip isn't right, and you can refund yourself any time before generation starts.

Good for

  • Loop it on the living room TV for the whole party
  • Name a camera after the room your guests are standing in
  • Put a laptop on the drinks table as a fake security desk
  • Cast it to a second screen in the hallway or garage
  • Start the power cut just before the costume contest

Pay once. Keep it.

Questions

Do I need a projector?

No. The monitor is a web page. Open it on a laptop, AirPlay or Chromecast it, or open the link in your smart TV's browser. A projector works too if you have one.

Is it actually live?

It looks live, but it isn't recording anything. It's a set of looping clips made from your photos, played on a monitor with a running clock, REC and motion alerts.

How long does the loop run?

As long as the tab is open. The monitor keeps mixing clips across cameras, with dropouts and motion alerts, so it doesn't feel like the same video on repeat.

Can I use normal daytime photos?

Yes. Phone photos taken in daylight are fine. We turn each one into a night-time security camera still before any clips are made.

Which plan should I get for a party?

Party ($79, 4 cameras) is enough for a small flat. Haunt ($169, 9 cameras) adds a story that moves between cameras and a power cut, which is the bit people remember.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, before generation starts you can refund yourself in one click. After that we can't, because the AI compute has already been spent on your clips.
