The Blue Screen

A solid blue cardboard board with a white sad face and the words Your PC ran into a problem, plus a short loop of rope as the restart cable. The fastest costume here, and the only one that gets sympathy.

What you need

• Cardboard about 50 by 60 cm
• Blue paint or a thick blue marker
• White paint pen
• Rope for shoulder straps and a short loop

How to make it

1. 1

   Colour the whole front of the board a solid blue. Two thin coats of paint is quicker than marker.

   When dry, draw a large white sad face at the top left with the paint pen: a colon and an open bracket.

   Below it, write “Your PC ran into a problem” in white pen.

   Add shoulder straps through two holes, and tie a loop of rope at the bottom as a restart cable.

Make it better

• Tell people you need to restart, then stand still for ten seconds.
• Wear it with a 404 for a group of computer problems.
